BACKUCHIOL
Bakuchiol is an ingredient derived from the plant Psoralea Corylifolia, also known as the lilac-coloured Indian Babchi plant. It is an anti-ageing alternative to retinol, ideal for sensitive skins who cannot tolerate vitamin A. It is proven to provide similar results in collagen stimulation and skin rejuvenation on the skin to retinol.

Bakuchiol is a monoterpene phenol with a retinol-like functionality. Even though bakuchiol has no structural resemblance to retinoids, it can act as a functional analogue of retinol.

Bakuchiol is also known to be soothing on the skin. It exerts its anti-inflammatory process by interfering with the arachidonic acid pathway.

It is known to down-regulate pro-inflammatory genes to a similar extent as retinol.

It has also been proven to help minimise the formation of blemishes, by inhibiting 5-alpha reductase sebum production and acting as both an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial.

Finally bakuchiol is known to brighten the skin by blocking the pathway to melanin synthesis

SEPIWHITE - Brightening Peptide Precursor
A lipo-amino acid which easily penetrates the skin to help block the melanin stimulating hormone (MSH) by blocking this hormone it helps to control tyrosinase activity.

This ultimately prevents the production of melanin resulting in a visibly brighter, more even complexion with less hyperpigmentation

A patented peptide precursor, Sepiwhite’s INCI name is undecylenoyl phenylalanine.

CENTELLA ASIATICA - CICA
A growing trend from the Korean beauty market, centella asiatica is more well-known by the common name Cica. It is promoted as a cure-all solution for sensitive or compromised skin. In Bakuchiol Peptides, cica lends its anti-inflammatory properties to help calm sensitised or sensitive skin types, and minimise any redness.

Cica provides the perfect support in addition to bakuchiol, helping to calm sensitivity and heal a compromised skin.

Cica extract also stimulates collagen synthesis; stimulating type I collagen to reduce and improve the appearance of scar tissue

Centella asiatica is also able to minimise inflammation of the skin, preventing the inflammatory cascade to minimise irritation and redness in the skin.

INKA OMEGA OIL
Bakuchiol Peptides contains Inka Omega Oil, one of the world’s highest sources of omegas, to replenish and restore the skin’s natural barrier.

Inka omega oil is derived from a plant native to the humid forests of the South American Andean region. It is organic and extracted using only cold processing techniques.

The omegas slip into the gaps between skin cells in the stratum corneum to restore the skin’s natural barrier and block moisture loss. The richly nourishing Inka Omega Oil moisturises and hydrates the skin.
