MULTI-WEIGHT HYALURONIC ACID
An humectant which can hold up to 1000 x its own weight in water. Smaller weights of hyaluronic acid penetrate deep into the stratum corneum to draw water upwards through the layers, while the larger sizes sit on top of the complexion creating a hydration reservoir to feed the skin with moisture.

VITAMIN B5 (Panthenol)
Panthenol improves the moisture retention capability of the skin and stimulates skin regeneration and wound healing. It is also anti-inflammatory and has an anti-itching effect.

NATURAL MOISTURISING FACTORS
Sodium PCA, glycerin, urea, proteins, sugars, 15 different amino acids, lactic acid, creatine; natural components in the skin which bind water and optimises the stratum corneum barrier function for ultimate hydration.

HYALURONIC ACID BOOSTER COMPLEX:
SOY EXTRACT – Soy extract contains isoflavones called genistein and daidzein which are proven to stimulate the skin’s natural production of glycosaminoglycans such as hyaluronic acid. Also has an anti-glycation effect by reducing crosslinking of collagen molecules and can stimulate collagen synthesis in fibroblasts. Therefore soy isoflavone help to stimulate the extracellular matrix for youthful skin.

BIOSACCHARIDE GUM – forms a biosaccharide shield over the skin, to protect from the external environment. Biosaccharide gum and hyaluronic acid have complementary moisturising properties. Hyaluronic acid is able to quickly hydrate the stratum corneum due to it having a branched structure which can quickly grab onto water molecules. Biosaccharide gum has a linear structure which forms a film over the surface of the skin, generating a ‘humid climate’ in the skin for a longer period of time. This decreases TEWL and leaves long-lasting hydration in the skin. It is also broken down into smaller molecules by extracellular enzymes in the skin which can trap water molecules as they penetrate into the stratum corneum.

SASKATOON BERRY – Packed full of anthocyanins which are able to inhibit the enzyme hyaluronidase, which is responsible for breaking down hyaluronic acid in the skin. This protects the skin’s natural hyaluronic acid levels to preserve them in the extracellular matrix, leaving skin plump and youthful. Anthocyanins are the purple pigments which give superfood’s their purple colour. Saskatoon berry is also anti-inflammatory by inhibiting COX-1 and 2.
